" Welcome" to our home on the web. Our mission statement is pretty simple. We are here to provide our members and the public with accessible genealogical and historical research data and to preserve and protect historical artifacts, cemeteries, and structures located on Cape Hatteras, North Carolina.
HIGPS, is a continuing work in progress. It always will be. With every new genealogical and or historical discovery, and every new member that we welcome on board, we will continue to grow and evolve as a society. As most people have found out who have started their journey into researching their unique island heritage, there is a constant ebb and flow of new names, faces, and stories. This is what it's all about.
